It’s been a while since our last post and although we’re no longer writing blogs, we’re still busy trying to share Sissinghurst with those who love the garden. One of our new projects has been film-making and we’ve just published our first film which I thought you might like to watch. It’s about wild flowers, meadows and scything at Sissinghurst and was made by the garden team. I hope you enjoy it and please feel free to make a comment; we want to know what you think. I just watched this short film twice. It’s incredibly soothing and wonderful. I plan on sharing it with a group of travelers I am taking to your beautiful garden in the latter part May of this year. Thank you for sharing! Maintaining & improving the meadows at Sissinghurst is such a worthwhile task. I have visited them over many years & over different seasons and now look forward to a renewed burst of vigour on my next visit! Well done – great little film!

Lovely pictures coupled with a gentle commentary, all very Sissinghurst. I particularly liked the ‘taking care of the scythe’ portion. Thank you for an excellent film. We have sorely missed the blogs.

Really enjoyed your film. Very fascinating to see your traditional approach to meadow management. Scything techniques also intriguing. Hoping to visit Sissinghurst in July, and to see first-hand your well-tended meadows : )

A beautiful film so evocative. I can just imagine whole families going out with their picnic baskets to do the scything, with the children playing and throwing the cuttings around, spreading the dry seed. Thank you.
