A New Film from Sissinghurst

Film making is a slow process but here, at last, is our second Sissinghurst film. This time it’s about the wonderful collection of irises we have in the garden, and how we are trying to find some of the irises that have been lost from the original collection that Vita and Harold created.

We do hope that you enjoy the film and will be able to visit the garden in May to see these beautiful flowers for yourself.

  1. Fantastic Video! Thank you SO much for sharing it. I have read every book that I can get my hands on about Sissinghurst and hope to visit one day. In the meantime, the videos are a great treat for those of us who live too far for a visit. I also really miss your wonderful blog and hope that it could continue some day. It’s always been one of the best around. Have a great weekend friends and thanks for sharing this!

    • Thanks Cole, really appreciate your positive comments. If you are interested in reading more about the garden, the Gardeners write ‘Cuttings’ once a month which is on the Sissinghurst website and I also write a monthly article for the website. Hope to see you at Sissinghurst one day. Helen

  3. Hello, I was wondering if you have a list of the fruit tree varieties in your orchard. My wife picked up a ripe yellow pear from under the tree closest to the moat walk and moat and like it so much, she is now demanding I plant one in our garden! If you could help, I would be most grateful!

    Thanks!

  4. Love seeing the older irises that that are so classic and elegant. Inspiring. By the way, I just read the article about pruning roses, from a couple of years back, and it was so helpful. I have a small urban garden in the US and climbing roses help me have more flowers. So helpful and inspiring to discover your useful offerings on the web. Thanks! Vita would certainly approve?
